This new season of films follow the launch of the video-on-demand service earlier this year, and will feature a selection of hit African comedies.
The African film industry has a rich heritage in the comedy genre, producing films that provide a unique perspective on African culture and its political landscape, and often a source of escapism in times of unrest.
The catalogue includes:
- Max and Mona, a story of village boy with extraordinary mourning skills
- FESPACO 2007 winner Le President A-T-IL le Sida aka The President has Aids
- Cameroonian comedy Pousse-Pousse and Rickshaw Tricycle Man by Daniel Kamwa
- Soweto Green, a political drama-comedy made after South Africa's first historic democratic elections
- Zimbabwean comedy-drama Kini and Adams by Idrissa Ouedraogo
