The ROSCAR (Rhino sculpture) Awards, which forms part of the Wild Talk Africa Film Festival and Conference, is calling for entries. The Festival attracts the global wildlife filmmaking industry and will take place from 28 – 31 March 2011 in Cape Town, South Africa. Don't miss this opportunity to take part.
In 2009, the Festival attracted 253 ROSCAR Award entries from 21 countries and with the success of the last competition four new exciting categories have been added, they include: Expedition/ Adventure Award, Short Film Award, Presenter Award and Alternative Broadcast Award.
The existing ROSCAR Award categories are: Music Award, Cinematography Award, Limited Budget Award, Children's Natural History Production Award, Environmental Production Award, Editing Award, Script Award, Series Award, Sound Design Award, Newcomer Award, African Production Award and the Judge’s Choice Award - any production which noticeably impresses the judges will be put forward for the Judge’s Choice Award.
The ROSCAR Award winners will be announced at a high profile black-tie gala event which applauds filmmakers for their outstanding contribution to advancing an understanding of our natural world. It will take place during the Festival on 30 March 2011 at the enchanting Moyo restaurant at Spier, which promises sophisticated African cuisine and entertainment.
Judges for the ROSCAR Awards include prominent and well-known professionals in the wildlife filmmaking industry, with representation from leading wildlife companies and broadcasters including National Geographic, Animal Planet, BBC NHU to name a few.
