ANNECY STUDENT MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME
The NFVF invites final year animation students to submit character designs that are inspired by lead characters from any South African films. The purpose of this programme is to give students an opportunity to showcase their artwork at MIFA and an opportunity to network with students from animation institutions.
Background:
The National Film & Video Foundation (NFVF) is a statutory body mandated to spearhead the equitable growth and development of the SA film and video industry.
In order to advance skills development, ensure growth and competitiveness, the NFVF will be showcasing artwork from students from all over South Africa at the International Animation Film Market (MIFA).
Annecy International Animated Film Festival and its market MIFA is the leading animation festival in the world which will be taking place from the 10th– 15th June 2019 in the town of Annecy; France.
Brief:
The NFVF invites final year animation students to submit character designs that are inspired by lead characters from any South African films.
Submissions should be in the following format:
- Digital format
- Full resolution A4 in JPEG/PDF
The purpose of this programme is to give students an opportunity to showcase their artwork at MIFA and an opportunity to network with students from animation institutions.
The artwork form part of the South African Pavilion branding.
Eligibility
- South African citizen or permanent resident
- applicant must be a final year student
- applicant must be studying film and television related course
- applicant must be registered at an accredited institution
The required documents
- One-page letter of motivation
- Certified ID copy (valid for 3 months)
- Certified copy of matric certificate or latest academic results
- Certified copy of passport (valid for 3 months)
The NFVF will cover costs for flights, accommodation, daily allowance and accreditation.
