A CALL TO PARTICIPATE AT THE NFVF’S SKILLS TRANSFER PROGRAMME
Background:
The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Arts and Culture, is awarding three Gauteng based students an opportunity to work with the appointed Video and Photography company at the Heritage Education Schools Outreach Programme (HESOP).
The Heritage Education Schools Outreach Programme (HESOP) is an annual event hosted in partnership with the National Heritage Council (NHC), Department of Basic Education (DBE), South African National Parks (SANParks) and Brand South Africa. The HESOP programme takes on the format of a school camp targeted at high school learners from different districts at a provincial level.
Various national parks or heritage sites around South Africa play host to the camp, and this year it will be hosted at the Golden Gate Highlands National Park in the Free State from the 1st -5th of October 2018.
The purpose of this programme is to the create awareness around heritage and culture within the school curriculum.
The NFVF has appointed a video and photography company to document the 5-day event. The selected students will be given an opportunity to work with the appointed service provider. The objective of this is to provide opportunities for skills transfer for recently graduated students or final year students who require work experience.
Mandatory requirements:
- Certified copy of South African Identity document
- Proof of registration (2018)
- One page motivation letter (stating why you have chosen Film and Television production as a career and what you hope to gain from this opportunity)
Eligibility:
Applicants will be considered if they meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be registered at an accredited tertiary institution with South Africa
- Applicant must be final year student
- Preference will be given to NFVF funded students
This opportunity will include travelling to and from Free State Province (Golden Gate Park Resort), accommodation, and daily allowance from the 01st – 05th October 2018.
