The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture, is calling for public screening proposals in celebration of Women’s and Heritage Months. The screening can be in an outdoor, indoor, and/or drive – in format. The funding cap for these screenings is R150 000 for one to three screenings.
In anticipation of Women’s Month, the NFVF has decided to support public screening activations to celebrate films that are created by South African women filmmakers and those that celebrate women. These screenings, set to happen during August and September 2023, are intended to support the on-going efforts to drive the recovery of the industry through screenings that will provide entertainment through the distribution of content, and provide women filmmakers and entrepreneurs with an opportunity to create jobs.
