Gavin Sher

 

Gavin Sher M.A. has unique expertise in the fields of film and storytelling, gained through years of study and experience. He has filled many roles in the South African film industry, but his primary focus is on script-development and the training of South African screenwriters.

A full member of the Writer’s Guild Of South Africa, Gavin has worked as a head-writer and editor on television series for local broadcasters, including SABC and E-TV and he has served on MNET’s development panel. 

Gavin also serves as a script editor for the National Film and Video Foundation and he is often invited to sit on the NFVF panel that assigns national funding for the development and production of feature films and television in SA. 

In his own capacity, Gavin is an award-winning writer who has written and assisted in the development of a number of independent feature films and television series.
