Funding is provided for:

• Feature films
• Short films
• Documentaries
• Made for TV Movies
• Web – series
• TV Pilots

For production funding:

• South African production companies with relevant experience and a credible track record in producing content or broadcast quality.
• New and emerging filmmakers who have a production company attached to the project.

For archive funding:

SA production companies that have produced at least three documentaries which have been broadcast on TV or released theatrically in either one hour or feature-length formats.

Requirements (for all applicants):

• Completed application form.
• A synopsis
• A treatment
• A completed screenplay
• Letter of motivation
• Production schedule
• Production budget
• Finance plan
• A distribution and exhibition plan
• A document detailing the proposed target audience
• CV of applicant
• Proof of SA ID and tax clearance certificate
• BBBEE certificate or BBBEE Affidavit
• Chain of title document

Production applicants also require:

• A script that is ready to go into production.
• Relevance to a South African audience.
• In the case of co-productions, compliance with treaty requirements;

Documentary applicants also require:

• A creative treatment
• A preliminary list of archive requirements
• Letters of support from any other financiers
• Proof of copyright clearance
• A list of the archival records you wish to use.
• Archive budget accompanied by quotations from the archive source.

Archive applicants also require:

• A creative treatment

Fiction applicants also require:
